Managament Team
The executive management of NextDay has the breadth and depth of experience to lead
the company to success. The founders of the company have a combined 30 years of
IT experience including network design, software development, and consulting. On
an advisory basis, they are supported by business professionals with backgrounds
in finance, law, strategic planning, business development, corporate administration,
and marketing.
Ramin Movahedi
Ramin Movahedi is the President and Chief Executive Officer of NextDay.
He has executive responsibility for managing the company and is the principle liaison
with the company’s external partners. Mr. Movahedi has worked in systems integration,
software and hardware development for over 15 years. He was the owner and founder
of Multisupport Computer Systems, a computer solutions company formed at the request
of the Stanford University Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
Mr. Movahedi was a key member of the Stanford team that designed MULTIFIT, a cardiac
risk management expert system, and was asked to manage all computer operations for
MULTIFIT, including the nationwide integration of the program for Kaiser Permanente.
He has also created proprietary software for several industries, most notably for
Dry Cleaning Station, a national franchise. He developed and marketed PCDOESIT®,
a national point-of-sale and inventory control system designed for small to mid-level
retail and service ventures. He also developed MultiRegister®, an integrated computer
system designed to replace conventional cash registers. He has managed several successful
programming and marketing teams.
Mr. Movahedi received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from San Jose State
University in 1991.
Arthur Smaal
Arthur Smaal is the Chief Operating Officer of NextDay. He is responsible for all
technical operations including the maintenance and configuration of NextDay’s systems
and computers. He also oversees all web site programming and web programmers.
Mr. Smaal has an extensive engineering background with more than ten years experience
in computer and web programming, network management, financial management, marketing
of technical products and website design. Mr. Smaal has a Bachelor of Science in
Mechanical Engineering and Total Quality Management from Zeeland Polytechnic (Holland),
and has a post-graduate diploma in Total Quality Management from University of Humberside
(UK). He is fluent in English, German, and Dutch and highly literate in numerous
computer languages. He has both consulting and management experience in international
business in the United States, Europe, and Africa.

Charles Fishel
Charles Fishel is serving as the interim Chief Financial Officer
of NextDay. He has held management roles with Fortune 100 multinationals including
Intel, Teledyne, Carnation, Peter Kiewit & Sons, and startup companies Dr. Fishel
is a Distinguished Executive Lecturer at California State University, Monterey Bay,
and Senior Lecturer at San Jose State University.
Dr. Fishel has been recognized by Marquis' Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
Michael Marcus
Michael Marcus is a consultant to NextDay on issues related to
strategy and marketing. Michael is the founder of Marcus Partners, LLC, a financial
services and e-business advisory firm. His firm advises senior management on issues
related to strategy, business development (partnerships and M&A), product development,
risk management, and marketing.
Michael spent seven years with HSBC’s domestic credit card business in a variety
of senior management positions including Chief Credit Officer and Chief Marketing
Officer. Prior to HSBC, Michael spent twelve years at The Boston Consulting Group.
He was a Partner in the firm’s Financial Services Practice and worked in BCG’s Chicago
and London offices.
Michael has an MBA in Finance from the University Of Chicago Graduate School Of
Business, and a BA with Honors in Political Science from Grinnell College.
Gary Ray
Gary Ray is the General Counsel of NextDay and is a Partner in
law firm of Abramson Church & Stave LLP (Salinas, CA).
Mr. Ray received his undergraduate degree in Economics for the University of California,
Irvine, his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the
Law, and his MBA (with a concentration in Organization & Strategic Studies/Finance)
from The Anderson School at UCLA.
